It’s all the rage now, and a great way to entice viewers into liking your Facebook Fan Page. By hiding content that they can’t see until the have physically clicked the “Like” button on your fan page (we’ll be adding this hidden content in a following tutorial). I see this question asked all the time and normally the answers I see are convoluted at best. So here is a down and dirty walk through.

1. Sign into your Facebook account.

2. Go to https://developers.facebook.com/apps

3. Click on the “Create New App” button in the top right hand corner

4. Assign the name of you application and set it’s name space.

5. Prove you are a human by entering in the Captcha and hit submit

6. On the next screen scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Page Tab” option

7. Enter the URLs that host your tab information (These are files you would host on your web server). Please note the use of a .php file extension, while you could use standard html files to incorporate the like only content later we be using the Facebook php SDK. Once your URLs are set save the changes.

8. Click “View app profile Page” on the right hand column menu

9.Click on the “Add to My Page” on the right hand side menu

10. Select the Fan Page you want to add the custom tab to

11. The tab has now been added to your fan page!
